For over 30 years, Joel Plaskett has been one of Canada’s most versatile and enduring musical voices, crafting songs that span genres, generations, and geography. From his early days with Thrush Hermit, to chart-topping rock with The Emergency, and deeply personal solo work, Plaskett’s career is a testament to creative evolution rooted in authenticity.

This special solo performance at the Avening Hall offers a rare chance to experience Joel up close and personal—just a guitar, a mic, and the songs that have defined a generation of Canadian music lovers.

From lo-fi introspection (La De Da, In Need of Medical Attention) to ambitious concept albums (Ashtray Rock, 44), Plaskett’s music is as dynamic as it is heartfelt. His 2024 release, One Real Reveal, brings things full circle—raw, honest, and wide open—perfect for the intimate charm of Avening Hall.

Whether you’ve followed him from Down at the Khyber or just discovered him through Songs From The Gang—the 2025 tribute album featuring covers by Arkells, Sloan, City and Colour, and more—this is a night not to miss.
