Have you wanted to try a new medium, but are afraid to invest in new materials? Or do you already have supplies, but just aren’t sure how to use them? Bring them along! Here’s a chance to practice without the commitment. Come hang out with Miss Ruthie and experiment, play, and practice your watercolor washes. Each student will get a large sheet of watercolor paper for your experiments and practice. This session will start with some discussion of watercolor techniques and exercises together. The rest of the class will be open to practice on your own. Students will leave with the knowledge they gain through playing and experimentation, which most of us don’t really make the time to do. This class is also great in combination with the Watercolor Practice: Brush Strokes and Techniques on 6/19, but can definitely be taken alone. Students are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, or whatever else needed to help you get comfortable and relaxed while making art.
