DIY Home: Ceramic Phone Stand

Ages: 13+/Adult party night.

Miss Ruthie will teach students how to create a ceramic phone stand. A nice addition to any room in your home! This is an opportunity to make an everyday household item into a custom piece of art made for just your space. Students will learn simple slab-building, stamping, and carving/sgraffito techniques, how to use a variety of clay tools, and gain an understanding of clay and its properties. Each student will make as many phone stands as class time allows, and glaze it that night to be ready for a once-firing process. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to the class and relax while making art.
