Create and Chill Fragmented Faces Mixed Media Self Portraits

Miss Ruthie will guide students in making a mixed media self-portrait. We ask that students bring an image of themselves they are willing to rip/cut up. The MAC can also print images the night of, if needed. Students will take the ripped fragments and reorient them on to drawing/watercolor paper leaving gaps between the fragments in order to “rebuild” their portrait with their personality. Students will have access to all supplies and materials in our Imaginarium including, watercolors, acrylic paint, pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers, scrapbooking paper, and more, to create their self-portrait. We encourage students to explore and experiment with different mediums. Each student will leave class with one bookmark. Students are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, or whatever else needed to help you get comfortable and relaxed while making art.
