What started as a virtual-only group, it has now grown to almost 18,000 global members and has chapters all around the world. From London to Boston, Los Angeles to Melbourne, MCBC is there! And now, it's coming to downtown Statesville, NC!

Join us for our February meeting discussing "RABID: A Cultural History of the World's Most Diabolical Virus" by Bill Wasik and Monica Murphy!

A little about the book: "From Greek myths to zombie flicks, from the laboratory heroics of Louis Pasteur to the contemporary search for a lifesaving treatment, Rabid is a fresh and often wildly entertaining look at one of humankind's oldest and most fearsome foes. The most fatal virus known to science, rabies—a disease that spreads avidly from animals to humans—kills nearly one hundred percent of its victims once the infection takes root in the brain. We will meet on the 4th Thursday of every month at 6pm to discuss the selected book. This is for 18+ audiences, and note that some topics are intense and, well, morbid. Please do your research, and check any TW if needed.
