Coming to the Emma Kelly Theater in February 2026, the Averitt Center for the Arts presents: Barefoot in the Park!
Set in 1970's New York City, Barefoot in the Park is a romantic comedy about newlyweds, Paul (a button-down lawyer) and Corrie (a free spirit) Bratter. After only a week of marriage, they get a visit from Corrie’s “loopy” mother at their new apartment in New York. Corrie decides to play matchmaker with her mother and their upstairs neighbor at a dinner party where everything that can go wrong, does. Can these two newly overcome their differences and let love conquer all? Find out soon!
CASTING NEEDS: 2 women & 4 men:
· Paul Bratter…..A 20 something New York attorney
· Corrie Bratter…Paul’s new bride, also 20 something
· Ethel Banks…Corrie’s mother, mid to late 40’s
· Victor Valasco…Paul and Corrie’s eccentric upstairs neighbor, late 50’s
· Telephone Repair Man…any age
· Delivery Man…any age
AUDITIONS for this performance will be held in the Averitt Center 3rd-floor multi-purpose room. Participants can audition from 9 am until noon, and then from 2 pm until 4 pm on Nov. 1st.
This audition will be a cold read, and applicants will be seen in the order that they arrive.
