Modern Wax Seals: Getting Started
Step into the slow, satisfying world of modern wax sealing in this hands-on workshop with Kaleidoscope PA. Once used to authenticate letters and mark important documents, wax seals have evolved into a beautiful contemporary craft, adding texture, intention, and a personal touch to everyday objects.
In this class, we’ll explore modern approaches to wax sealing using both glue guns and electric wax warmers, learning the advantages of each method while experimenting with different creative techniques. Participants will create a variety of seals, including one-tone designs, multi-colored and marbled designs, and those enhanced with delicate embellishments. Beyond technique, this workshop invites participants to slow down and engage in a tactile, calming creative process. The repetitive motion of melting, pouring, and stamping encourages focus and presence, offering a gentle pause from the pace of daily life.
Participants will leave with a collection of finished wax seals. No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
