Independence Day Parade & Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social
Hurray, once again, the 4th of July Celebration is happening!
Friday, July 4th, at 11 a.m., in Stanwood, at the west end. The parade will begin at Josephine’s and go south on 90th to the Sons of Norway. It will turn there and go west down the red brick road to 102nd. On 102nd Ave, it will head North and end at the Floyd.
Children, adults, scouts, firefighters, veterans, and all interested groups are invited to be in the parade. Bring your horses, antique cars, fire trucks, floats, or wagons.
Parade participants should meet at the Josephine Caring Community parking lot on the 4th at 10:15 am.
Festivities include a costume contest for children with the best costume depicting the following themes: historical, patriotic, or 4th of July. The winners will get award certificates and prize money at the end of the ice cream social program at the Floyd.
Our Ice Cream Social will include ice cream with strawberries, lemonade, and coffee. All refreshments are complimentary.
Come and enjoy the Fun Day, which begins at 11 a.m. and is sponsored by the Stanwood Area Historical Society and the Stanwood Commerce Alliance.
