Can you believe everything you read?
As a fabulous finale to our centenary celebrations at Hertfordshire Libraries, we have not one, not two, but three crime authors discussing 'Unreliable Narrators' at Bishop's Stortford Library.
Fiona Cummins is an award-winning former journalist. Her debut novel, Rattle, was the subject of a huge international auction and has been translated into several languages. She has since written bestsellers The Collector, The Neighbour, When I Was Ten and Into the Dark. Fiona lives with her family in Essex.
Araminta Hall's first novel, Everything & Nothing, was published in 2011 and became a Richard & Judy read that year. Her second, Dot, was published in 2013. She teaches creative writing at New Writing South in Brighton and her latest book, Our Kind of Cruelty, is a deeply unsettling thriller of a love story. Optioned by Elisabeth Moss’ production company Love & Squalor, Imperfect Women (Perfect Strangers - UK edition) is set to be a major series on Apple TV. Filming started in May 2025, staring Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington and Kate Mara.
M. J. Arlidge has worked in television for the last 20 years, specialising in high-end drama production, including prime-time crime serials Silent Witness, Torn, The Little House and, most recently, the hit ITV show Innocent. His debut thriller, Eeny Meeny, was the UK's bestselling crime debut of 2014. It was followed by six more bestsellers. Down to the Woods is the eighth DI Helen Grace thriller.
