Stanley Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be preparing a meal in remembrance and honor of Line of Duty Death member Ronnie Richards. All funds obtained from this meal will go to a scholarship fund in honor of Firefighter Ronnie Richards. Scholarship details will be posted at a later date.

50 years ago Firefighter Ronnie Richards was killed in the Line of Duty in February of 1976. The Stanley Volunteer Fire Department was responding to an outside fire when the fire engine rolled on its side and trapping firefighter Richards underneath, Richards died at the scene. Our department wants to honor the life and dedication of Ronnie Richards with this scholarship, we will continue this meal or other events in the future to raise funds for this scholarship.
