This special evening will bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to celebrate and uplift Black excellence across Stanford’s School of Engineering. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!The evening will feature a seated dinner, an awards ceremony, and remarks from inspiring speakers, all centered on community, excellence, and connection. Doors open at 6:15 PM and there will be a cocktail reception starting at 6:30 PM. The program and dinner will start promptly at 7:00 PM.The banquet will include a keynote address from Principal Investigator and Research Staff Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Jeremy Feaster (Class of '17, M.S. Chemical Engineering, Ph.D. Chemical Engineering). We will also have remarks from the School of Engineering Office of Student Success and Engagement by Jamillah McDaniel, Ph.D, the presentation of five Excellence awards, dinner & drinks service, and time for networking and connection. We will have "The Ritual Calling of a Black Engineer" led by the Society of Black Scientists and Engineers (SBSE), where graduating students may choose to commit to the "Obligation of a Black Engineer" -- a voluntary, lifelong pledge to uphold ethical standards.
