Dragonflies of Chartley Moss

Dragonflies of Chartley Moss

FREE event! Chartley Moss National Nature Reserve is the largest floating peat bog in Britain, and supports important botanical communities. It is also recognised as an important site for Dragonflies, as its sphagnum pools support breeding populations of the rare White-faced Darter. Join Natural England NNR Co-ordinator Tim Coleshaw, and BDS Conservation Officer Ellie Colver, for a guided tour around this wonderful site, and a chance to encounter this charismatic species.

Contact Ellie to book: 07792 231 925

Outdoor clothing and footwear are essential (wellies would be best as it can be very wet). Bring binoculars, ID books and camera if you have them.

Contact Ellie Colver to book a place (if the walk proves popular we will arrange an additional walk in the morning on the same day).

See events page for map and directions to the meeting point on the A518 just past Chartley castle : https://www.british-dragonflies.org.uk/content/upcoming-events
