Our objectives are as follows:Normalise the visibility of Black & Brown faces within the outdoors.Increase diversity and improve access for those lacking ability, representation, or opportunity.Boost the confidence of our communities in navigating the outdoorsEnhance the physical and mental well-being of our participants.Support participants in overcoming any fears and stigmas associated with the outdoors.Provide fun and therapeutic experiences in nature.Foster communities of outdoor enthusiasts and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to make outdoor activities a recreational part of their lives.Cultivate environmentally friendly communities.Steppers UK CIC is dedicated to creating outdoor experiences that empower Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities. Through guided outdoor activities, we provide a space for participants to heal, build resilience and reconnect with nature in a safe and supportive environment.For many Black and Brown individuals, particularly those in urban settings, access to nature has been historically restricted due to systemic barriers and social inequalities. Our mission is to change this by removing barriers and increasing representation in outdoor spaces.This walk is funded by the United Family and Friends Campaign (UFFC) and is designed for 18-35 year olds, particularly those affected by systemic inequalities. We aim to build resilience, strengthen community bonds and create opportunities for young people to connect with nature, discover its profound benefits and develop a deeper sense of belonging. Through this experience, we hope to inspire environmental consciousness, a love and respect for the natural world and a space where participants feel empowered and free.We will offer a limited number of tickets for individuals over 35, which will be made available closer to the event date.Join us on Sunday 27th April for a guided walk through the rugged landscapes of The Roaches in the Peak District.Event DetailsWe offer two options for joining this hike:1. Meet us there? Meeting Point: 10:00 AM at Roaches Tea Rooms & Restaurant, Staffordshire Moorlands? Navigate to the meeting point? Toilets are available a short walk from the meeting location.2. Travel with usFor those preferring group travel, we provide minibus transport with pick up points in Coventry and Birmingham.Coventry Pick-Up: 7:30 AM at Pool Meadow Bus Station, CV1 5AD (Coach Stand)? View on MapsBirmingham Pick-Up: 8:00 AM at Aston Station, B6 7PT (Outside the Seventh-day Adventist Church)?
