Our first big community ride of the year rolls out on 14th January, and it’s a beauty: a 46‑mile winter gravel adventure from Stockport back home to Velorunner in Stone. This route is all about variety — weaving together quiet country lanes, long‑forgotten railway lines, and peaceful canal towpaths as we make our way south.

We’ll keep things steady at a 10–15 mph leisure pace, perfect for riders who want to enjoy the scenery, chat with the group, and settle into the rhythm of winter miles without any pressure.

Getting to the start is easy, too. Direct trains from Stoke-on-Trent to Stockport run at 09:21, 09:56, 10:09, and 10:19, giving everyone plenty of options to roll into the morning relaxed and ready to ride at 10.30
