Join us in Stafford Town Centre for a free, family-friendly celebration of the town’s rich history! This exciting event invites you to explore Stafford’s fascinating past while enjoying activities, performances, and historical experiences throughout the day.
Event Highlights ?
? Historical Tours – Visit iconic landmarks including St Mary’s Church, St Chad’s, The High House, and The Alms Houses, with expert guides bringing Stafford’s past to life.
? Taking place in The Piano Bar at The Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.
10.00am to 10.30am – Leo Foetu – Foster (music)
10.30am to 11.00am – Andy Chell – The History of Morris Dance (talk)
11.00am to 12.00pm – Toasted Bones (music)
12.00pm to 12.30pm – Rev Glynne Watkins and PC Richard Rackham – Staffordshire Police History (talk)
12.30pm to 1.30pm – The Magpies (music)
1.30pm to 2.30pm – Phil Bradshaw – Stafford POW in Japan (talk)
3.30pm to 4.00pm – Paul Walters – The History of Freemasons in Stafford (talk)
4.00pm to 4.45pm – Stylus (music)
Café open, indoor stalls, and exhibitions from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
? Vibe 1 Radio Roadshow Market Square
? Talks &amp; Presentations – Engage with local history experts at 
?️ Stafford Library ‘Staffordshire Shakespeare Society’ will perform for approximately 30 mins at 11:30am and 12:30pm. 	
Including many scenes from plays performed at Stafford Castle and the Gatehouse over the last 30 years 	
??️?The Staffordshire History Centre will have a special programme of spotlight talks, pop up displays and object handling, a trail and badge making for children. Exhibition 'twenties takeover' will be on display.

? St Mary’s Church, a breathtaking example of medieval architecture.

⛪ St Chad’s Church, renowned for its remarkable Norman architecture and medieval charm, invites visitors to explore its peaceful interior, open for visitors from 11am to 3pm

Dress up and try on chainmail and helmets
? Volunteers bring the Ancient High House to life! – 11.00am to 3.00pm
The fantastic volunteer team will be situated across the house discussing some of their favourite items from the building.
? Conservation in Action in the Stuart Bedroom – Ancient High House – 11.00am to 3.00pm
One of our volunteers will be engaging in some conservation work on one of our many embroidered fabrics. Pop in to have a look and learn a little about the process.
? Taster Stafford Heritage Trail – Meet opposite the Ancient High House – 11.00am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm
Join us on these shorter, free, taster versions of our popular Heritage Trails. Sign up opposite the Ancient High House with our guide Gillian – BOOKINGS WILL OPEN ON THE DAY ONLY and this will be a first come, first serve basis as spaces are limited on each tour. If the tour you want is booked up, we endeavour to place you on the next one.
