Class Description: Ready to get your hands dirty and discover the art of wheel throwing? If you’re completely new to clay or looking to sharpen your existing skills, this class is designed for beginner students eager to explore the pottery wheel. In this guided, hands-on course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping basic forms like bowls, cups, and plates.  This is a short session designed as a great introduction to the medium of clay and the art of throwing on the potter’s wheel. By the end of the class, you’ll have a small collection of finished, glazed pieces to take home — and a solid foundation for continuing your ceramic journey.

Age Limitations: Ages 16 & Up

Supplies Included: Tuition covers 25 lbs of clay, use of studio glazes, all firings, and use of communal tools and equipment.

Additional Supplies: Each student will need their own basic ceramic tool kit. We have these available for purchase at the art center for $30 but we recommend you purchase prior to day one of class when we are open to the public, otherwise please bring cash with you to hand to the instructor. Please also provide your own apron and a personal hand towel to each class (We don’t use paper towels in this facility and we don’t do laundry!)
