- **Event Description**: Don’t miss the fun and educational activities children and their families can enjoy at the upcoming “5th Annual Stafford Child Safety Day” being organized by West Stafford School. This FREE (rain or shine) event will be held on Saturday, May 16th from 2:00-4:00pm at Stafford High School located at 145 Orcuttville Road in Stafford Springs, CT.

Safety Vehicle Displays - At Stafford Child Safety Day, visitors can interact with two fire trucks, several CT State Police cruisers, an ambulance, a CT State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Truck, a CT State Police Marine and Dive Unit boat, a CT State Environmental Conservation Police ATV, as well as, an M & J School Bus to explore.

As a special treat, visitors can meet police K-9 dogs and learn how they keep our community safe. In addition, visitors can check out CT State Police’s “Trooper Two” helicopter (weather permitting)!

Community Groups - Children and their families will have the opportunity to visit over twenty local safety and wellness groups featuring their community resources. Children can also have free vision testing, free bicycle helmets (while supplies last), free facepainting and free child ID kits. Refreshments will be available for purchase from Dockside Dogs (hot dogs and snacks) and Udder Delights (ice cream truck).

In fair weather, the event will be held on the field in front of the high school’s entrance. In poor weather, the event will be moved indoors to the back entrance utilizing the high school’s cafeteria and adjacent hallways. Parking will be available at Stafford High School, Stafford Elementary School and Stafford Middle School.
