Join Melissa West of UF/IFAS Pinellas County Extension to learn how to setup your own rain barrel to collect rainwater and use it in the landscape.

We will explore practical, low-cost approaches to harness our most precious resource, rainwater and at the same time reduce stormwater runoff and pollution.

Rain barrel raffle: Talk attendees can enter for the chance to win a rain barrel from the City of St. Petersburg’s Water Resources Department! (Limited quantity)

Talk is free with Gardens admission or membership. No pre-registration required. Held in the Garden Room.

Melissa West is the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) Public Education Program Coordinator in Pinellas County. Melissa is teaching Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ concepts focusing on water conservation and reducing stormwater runoff in the landscape. Additionally, she works with homeowners providing information to reduce their outdoor water use, promoting native landscapes and attracting wildlife to their yards.
