About the event

Being Black and Betty Crocker
Barbara Jo Taylor received her first Betty Crocker cookbook as a teenager in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She looked at photos of women working in General Mills’ test kitchens and said, “That’s what I want to do.” In 1968, she launched her 20-year career with the company. Barbara Jo Davis is a culinary visionary who helped bring Hamburger Hotdish and Ken Davis BBQ to grocery store shelves, while also opening doors for new generations of women. Join us for a special conversation with Barbara Jo Davis moderated by JoJo Bell. Conversation will continue at the reception afterwards.

This free program will feature a screening of TPT’s Being Black and Betty Crocker, a moderated conversation with Barbara Jo Davis, a Q&A session, and reception with light refreshments. Registration is recommended, but not required.

A paid ticket or museum membership is required to visit the Julia Child: A Recipe for Life exhibition. If you're unable to attend in person, the event is also accessible virtually via Zoom: https://mnhs-org.zoom.us/j/84811307843.

This event is free and open to the public and registration is not required, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP. Tickets are not required for admission.
