A Holiday Tradition That Shines Bright
For decades, Light Up St. Matthews has filled Brown Park with holiday cheer, becoming one of the most beloved traditions in the City of St. Matthews. Thousands of families gather each year to enjoy festive activities, warm drinks, and the magical moment the park comes to life with twinkling lights.
What to Expect
This annual celebration offers fun for all ages, including:
• Musical entertainment to set the holiday mood
• Letters to Santa and photos with Santa
• Train rides and kid-friendly activities
• Free cookies and hot chocolate
The Grand Finale
At 6:00 p.m., the switch is flipped and Brown Park lights up with thousands of colorful holiday lights that will shine nightly through the New Year.
Special 75th Anniversary Drone Show
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the City of St. Matthews, a spectacular drone show will take place immediately following the lighting at 6:30 p.m. Look to the sky for a dazzling display created just for this milestone year.
Celebrate the Season
Rain, snow, or shine, most activities take place under tents so the fun continues no matter the weather. This free community event is the perfect way to kick off the season with family, friends, and neighbors.
If you can’t make it on the day of the event, the holiday lights will remain on nightly for visitors to enjoy throughout the season.
