JP is visiting Jersey from the UK for a week of training and development with our local adventure community. He is a highly respected figure in the UK outdoor adventure industry, with specialist expertise in coasteering, sea kayaking, and surf kayaking.JP is a founding member and voted in as first chair of the National Coasteering Charter (NCC). He is also a National Trainer in Sea Kayak, Surf Kayak, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and serves as a technical advisor to numerous outdoor providers across the UK.He was requested to be an expert witness in the inquest into the 2019 coasteering fatality in Dorset, offering nationally recognised insight into safety, standards, and operational practice.During this talk, JP will outline the events that unfolded on the tragic day in Dorset before focusing on the critical lessons learned.
