Traveling to Italy this year and eager to feel confident ordering food & wine, asking for directions, or chit-chatting with locals? Nessun problema! Our 5 week Italian for Travelers language class is lively, low-pressure, FUN, and designed to get you speaking confidently all while enjoying great company, antipasti, & vino 🍷.
Class Details & What to expect:
• Location: Vicini pastaria, café, & market, 1916 Park Ave in Lafayette Square, St. Louis
• Mondays, July 28 – August 25, 2025, 5:30 pm – 7 pm
• Max 14 students – intimate and interactive setting
• $40 per class or $175 for the full 5 week series, Advance tickets required.
• Included: all materials/slides, antipasti (charcuterie, cheeses, & light bites) to snack on throughout class, and your first glass of vino della casa (house wine) 🍷 (additional beverages available for purchase);
• Beginner-intermediate levels welcome: Whether you’re a total beginner or brushing up before your trip, this class is paced & adjusted for adult learners of varying skill levels
• Real-life conversation – Greetings, ordering in a restaurant, asking directions, chatting with locals — all practiced in a fun, engaging way.
• Cultural and travel tips
• Interactive & social – Practice each phrase with classmates over antipasti and wine —think of it as a mini “language aperitivo!”

Instructor & Experience: Michael Cross
Born in St Louis, Michael was raised in an Italian speaking household. With an Italian-born mother from Trieste and frequent trips to Italy to visit family and friends, he fell in love with the Italian language and culture. Michael is adjunct professor of Italian at St Louis Community College teaching at Meramec and Forest Park Campuses. He is CEO and founder of Vacanze Italiane - Italian Holidays, LLC, a tour agency focused exclusively on Italy and the Mediterranean. As a bilingual Italian instructor passionate about travel, culture, and conversation, Michael will be your guide for these fun, relaxed, slow-paced, and experiential sessions—no pressure, just practice and plenty of laughs! The series will focus on real-life conversational Italian, cultural etiquette, and travel-specific scenarios. Together we will strengthen your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation all while having FUN, sipping some vino, snacking on antipasti, and meeting some fellow travelers and lovers of Italian culture!
