Alongside many other marine species, these coral reefs disappeared during the Late Devonian mass extinction event, yet the ultimate environmental conditions that caused this are debated. This talk will present new findings that explain the abrupt collapse of Late Devonian reefs, the causes of which are equally important for understanding the long-term impact of environmental change on modern reefs.Your Speaker:Dr. Jack Stacey is from the UK and completed his studies at Royal Holloway, University of London, and the University of Manchester, before moving to Melbourne four years ago. At the University of Melbourne, Jack investigates how past environmental change has controlled the evolution of life.
