It begins with an hour-long performance that serves as the anchor for the evening, after which the stage is opened up to anyone with an interest in improvising. Host Craig Squires puts together inspired groups of musicians who jam until their sonic exploration reaches a natural conclusion. Bring your instrument and join in on the fun!

Sundar Subramanian is a composer-guitarist based in St. John’s since summer 2024. He composes and plays original music for solo guitar with electronic processing, effects and preparations and extended techniques, drawing on modern jazz, classical, rock, folk and ambient influences. His extended techniques have been discussed in the recent Bärenreiter publication The Techniques of E-Guitar Playing by Seth Josel and Michelle Lou.

Sundar’s most recent album Opening, which spent five weeks on the station chart of Montreal's CKUT, is available on Bandcamp as is his 2021 release Electric Currents. Stay tuned for a new album this year!
