The St Ives Feast is an ancient tradition that celebrates the consecration of the Parish Church of St Eia in 1434 and offers a rare chance to watch the game of Hurling the Silver Ball, a centuries’ old form of rugby.
Due to the ongoing renovation works at St Ives Guildhall, the parts of the event which would normally happen at the Guildhall have been moved to St Ia Parish Church. See below for details:
• 9:40 - Procession leaves St Ia Church
• 10:00 - Blessing at St Ia Well
• 10:00-12:30 - Edward Hain Centre Coffee Morning at The Western Hotel
• 10:30 - Hurling of the Silver Ball (from the St Ia Church yard)
• 11:30 - Pennies for under 7s (from St Ia Church entrance)
• 12:00 - Return of the Silver Ball (to the War Memorial steps)
• 12:05 - Pennies for over 7s (thrown from St Ia Church yard to the bottom of Lifeboat Hill)
