The Greengate site is one of the UK's most advanced glass production plants, combining St Helens' rich glassmaking heritage with modern manufacturing innovations, including float glass production and the recently commissioned rolled texture glass line. Guided by experienced personnel, visitors will see first hand the equipment, processes and technology used to manufacture high-quality architectural and decorative glass, at a site that continues to play a pioneering role in the future of sustainable glassmaking.As an extra bonus, visitors will travel to the Cowley Hill site in an historic St Helens bus, courtesy of the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust.Important information:Attendees: Please note that anyone who is employed by, or affiliated with, any of our competitors will unfortunately not be able to attendAs the visits are to operational sites, there are some specific requirements regarding attire. Legs must be covered, as should the torso and upper arms. For footwear, we stipulate that stout shoes should be worn. This means something with a hard sole and typically leather upper. The following types of footwear are not suitable: trainers, open toed shoes, sandals.Please notify us if you have any mobility issues or support requirements.
