Please join us (Sinister Jeeps/MWJJ/JAM) for the 73rd St Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade, honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country as we also celebrate the city’s 75th and the country’s 250th birthdays!
As always, we encourage everyone to show your patriotic spirit and decorate your Jeeps for the occasion. It’s a long day, we usually have to be in the staging area by 10am as roads start closing and the parade steps off at 1pm. Be sure to have plenty of fluids (non alcoholic) and snacks with you.
A few things for the parade route…..
WATCH THE KIDS! - There are A LOT of kids and they tend to stand out in the street very close to the moving vehicles. Especially when they see us coming! If you’re throwing ducks or candy, PLEASE try throwing it as close to the curb as possible and by all means DON’T CALL KIDS UP TO YOUR VEHICLE! This issue has been addressed with the parade committee and they have yet to do anything about it, we would hate to see anyone injured!
Keep pace with the vehicle ahead of you - Try keeping 1-2 car lengths between you and the Jeep ahead of you as much as possible.
MUSIC - feel free to play music on the parade route, try to keep it appropriate please, it is a family event! Can’t go wrong with patriotic music 😉
The parade will be on Harper again this year, the route ends at 11 mile. For those wanting to remove decorations before heading out, we will do the same as last year. When we get to 11 mile, we’ll make a Michigan left and head west on 11 mile to Lakeview high school. The school is on the left side of 11 mile and the lot we will use is on the far end of the school. A map will be provided closer to the event.
More details will follow, just wanted to get this out as a save the date……
