Saturday Swing Workshop: Connections

Queen City Swing Dance is excited to welcome Mike and Sebree for a workshop focused on different connections: flowing through the cross-hand, sweetheart, and handshake holds!

Prerequisites: basic East Coast Swing.

True story: Mike and Sebree met all thanks to Lindy hop! Talk about an adorable meet-cute.

Mike discovered the wonderful world of swing dancing in 2018 after several years of encouragement from friends and hasn’t stopped dancing since! His love for this dance only continues to grow and the joy he exudes when dancing is contagious. Mike is an organizer, teacher, and occasional DJ for Swing Dance Nashville and doesn’t like to miss a beat so you will find him dancing either role with all the dance friends, old and new alike. Mike values comfy connection and playful musicality in both his teaching and with his dance partners. Find Mike for a dance if he doesn’t find you first!

Sebree fell into the rabbit hole of lindy and all things swing jazz over a decade ago; she has no current plans to stop burrowing in even deeper. Sebree values connecting with her partners and contributing her own playful ideas within the dynamics of each dance. As a teacher, Sebree prioritizes exploring mechanics and connection to help her students feel confident in finding their own dance voice. Additionally, Sebree is often found behind the DJ table (or close by) nerding out over swing jazz. Seriously, she is always up for chatting about favorite songs/artists/recordings so don’t be shy to ask her the name of a song she just played if/when you see her in the DJ booth!
