Set against the backdrop of one of Britain's most iconic historic harbours, the festival will bring together visiting boats, live music, watersports, food and drink, maritime workshops, art installations and family-friendly activities for a relaxed weekend by the sea.

Whether you're arriving by boat, joining us for the day, or spending the whole weekend soaking up the atmosphere, there will be plenty to discover around the harbour. Expect harbour-side music, visiting vessels, rum, cider and spritz bars, opportunities to get out on the water, and a programme of activities celebrating Charlestown's unique maritime character.

At the heart of the festival is a simple idea: bringing people together to enjoy the best of summer on the Cornish coast. From sailors and sea lovers to families, visitors and locals, everyone is welcome.

The Skipper Festival Programme
Saturday 29th & Sunday 30 August 2026

Join us for two days of live music, visiting vessels, activities on and off the water, food, drink and plenty of late-summer harbour atmosphere.

Live Music - Saturday 29th August
12–2pm | The Wave Machine
Surf-inspired, feel-good sounds from a multi-instrumentalist.

3–5pm | Light in the Dark
Classics, mash-ups and big rock tunes.

6–8pm | The Claze
Indie folk and blues from North Cornwall.

Live Music – Sunday 30th August
12–2pm | Scenic Route
Pop, country and blues with a Spanish twist.

3–5pm | End of the Line Blues
A lively blend of pop, country and blues.

6–8pm | Tregony Teachers
Soul, swing and rock ’n’ roll to round off the weekend.

Around the Harbour
Skipper Rum Bar
Head to Smugglers on the Knuckle for Skipper Rum cocktails, drinks and a prime spot to enjoy the live music overlooking the harbour.

Community Sail Mural
Help us create a special piece of artwork for Charlestown Harbour. Join in with painting a large sail throughout the weekend as we create a collaborative festival mural.

Stalls & Activities
Explore stalls and activities around the harbour from our regular pop-ups and festival guests, including the RNLI, NCI Coastwatch, Classic Sailing and Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

On the Water
Charlestown Watersports will be getting people out on the water throughout the weekend, with activities including paddleboarding and water polo.

Little Skippers Trail
A harbour adventure for younger festival-goers. Pick up your trail from Smugglers Bar, follow the clues around the harbour and see if you can find the treasure.
£2 per trail.

Cornish Blacksmiths Collective
Watch traditional skills in action as the Cornish Blacksmiths fire up their pop-up forge in the inner harbour.
Live demonstrations 1–4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Visiting Vessels
Boats will be joining us in the harbour for the weekend, adding plenty of sails, colour and maritime character to the festival. Keep an eye out for visiting vessels around the inner harbour and our Best Dressed Vessel competition.
