Make your own creation!About this EventJoin us for a nature-inspired mark-making and book binding session with artist Anna Rooney. The aim of this workshop is for postgrads to have the chance to meet with other postgrads in a relaxed environment. Undergrads are also welcome if you are still here over the summer!The workshop will involve creating your own artbook with pages of expressive mark-making with natural materials. After prepping each page of your book for binding, you will be encouraged to make some experimental drawings, exploring pattern and line through the use of sticks and grasses as mark-making tools. We will then learn how to bind the pages together with thread by using a simple four-hole Japanese book-binding method, creating a sketchbook that’s entirely handmade.Through sketching with sticks and grasses, the aim of this workshop is to reframe what we think of as a traditional drawing tool and look at nature in a different way.
