Art Workshop - Still Life with Jan James

Join us for a morning of still life exploration with Jan James! Working from a live setup participants will explore essential principles of art, including atmospheric perspective, scale, detail, simultaneous contrast, color, and both one- and two-point perspective. This is the perfect workshop for beginners and experienced artists alike, the workshop emphasizes the core principles of art while allowing plenty of room for personal creativity and growth.

Jan James earned her MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Utah in 2010, after completing her BFA and a study abroad in Germany. She has taught painting and drawing at the University of Utah and Westminster College. A lifelong artist, Jan finds inspiration in Utah’s vast landscapes and her travels around the globe—often by bike—seeking connection with both people and the earth beneath her feet.

Workshop will be held at the Springville Museum of Art.
