The Springfield Democratic City Committee will hold a unified caucus on Saturday, March 7, 2026 to elect delegates to attend the 2026 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. Doors and registration will open at 9:00 AM. The formal start time of the caucus will be 10:00 AM and registration will close at 10:15 AM.
 
The caucus will be held in the gymnasium of Van Sickle Middle School, located at 1170 Carew Street in Springfield. 

The caucus will also feature addresses by state and federal elected officials, candidates, and party leaders.

The 2026 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention will be held on Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30 at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. 
  
This year's convention will be a Nominating Convention, during which elected delegates will cast votes to nominate Democratic Party candidates for statewide constitutional offices including Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, and Auditor, in addition to the United States Senate. 
  
All registered Democrats from the City of Springfield are eligible to run for delegate and vote in the caucus to elect delegates from their Ward. During the caucus, residents of each Ward will be grouped together to elect and vote on the delegates from that Ward.
 
Candidates for delegate must be registered Democrats in the City of Springfield, or a pre-registered Democrat who must be 16 years old, at the time of the caucus. Candidates for delegate must be present in-person, with an exception for individuals serving in the United States Armed Forces who notify their Ward Chair of their interest in being nominated prior to the caucus. Only individuals registered to vote as Democrats in the City of Springfield will be allowed to vote on any matter at the local caucus.
