The first annual Kwanzaa Black Makers Expo launches this holiday season with a vibrant celebration of Black culture, creativity, and community. The free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hollenbeck Creative Arts and Conference Center in Springfield, Ohio.
Hosted by the Mbele Leadership Foundation and sponsored by community partners, the Expo elevates Black makers, culture, and cooperative economics, while offering an engaging day of performances, learning, and local shopping—just in time for the holidays.
Highlights of the event include:
•Main Stage Spotlight Speaker: Sheila Ellis-Glasper, founder and president of the Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills (Manhattan, KS)
•Empowerment Sessions led by community leaders and business innovators that inspire community building and economic empowerment
•Live performances featuring music, spoken word, and cultural expression
•Unique vendors and makers offering handcrafted goods, fashion, art, wellness products, and more
•A special youth showcase
•Opportunities to connect, celebrate, and support Black excellence
