Let Karen’s story ignite your own spirit of adventure and inspire you to experience the raw beauty of Costa Rica firsthand.

Karen Power is a retired professor, grandmother, volunteer trail maintainer, and educator at local parks. Her long-distance hikes include the 1,100-mile Florida Trail, the 1,400-mile Buckeye Trail, the 480-mile French Way of the Camino de Santiago, and others. Karen’s 3,000+ miles of long hiking has inspired a non-lucrative hobby as a freelance writer, cartoonist, and writing coach.

The City of Springboro Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) partner with the Franklin-Springboro Public Library to present the Next Destination Speaker Series that focuses on hiking and bicycling. All programs are free,  begin at 6:30 p.m. and include a 60-minute presentation with plenty of time for questions after.
