Having released indie-folk records as Chain of Lakes since 2010, he has branched out of late, having penned an original folk musical (The Keeper), a children’s album (The Real Humdingers), written songs for many other artists (Sadie Campbell, Drew Hale, Andy Sydow, Between Two Voices), co-written on numerous projects, and most recently delved into the world of healing/medicine music. Critical accolades include multiple Kerrville finalist nods - including a 2022 win, and a pair of Album of the Year awards (WYCE). KJ enjoys teaching songwriting workshops and hanging with his three inspiring daughters. Spencer LaJoye Spencer LaJoye is a singer/songwriter from the Midwest making queer indie folk music for everyone.
