This is the third part of the Science of Stretching series designed specifically for yoga teachers. While it would be ideal to have participated in Parts 1 & 2, this training can also be a excellent stand alone experience.
In this training, we will explore the varieties of yoga asana and apply the biomechanics of stretching loads in each of the following yoga styles: Restorative, Yin, Hatha, and Vinyasa. Understanding connective tissues, types of contraction, duration, and outcomes will be included.
Participants will use various props including the yoga rope wall along, bolsters, weight bags, blocks, and blankets. Myofascial releases will be experienced with various types of rolling as well.
About the facilitator: Sandy Parker has been a movement education leader in West Michigan for 40 years. She has a BS in Health Education and many post graduate specialty certifications including Restorative Exercise Specialist. Sandy has studied with biomechanists Katy Bowman and Jules Mitchel, with anatomists Gil Hedley and Tom Meyers, and has followed the development of fascia science for 15 years. ReX Method™ Workshops are her signature presentations combining experience, education, and application for both practitioners and providers.
Upon completion of workshops, trainings, and a final exam, participants will be given a certificate of completion for up to 15 hours of study in the Science of Stretching.
Cost for this training alone: $150
Note: There is NO CHARGE for those who completed parts 1 & 2 (Hypermobility and Yoga + Fascinating Fascia).
