- **Event Description**: Learn sand casting techniques using delft clay. You'll learn how to form a proper mold in an aluminum ring. Choose from one of our wax ring molds in your size, or bring one that you've designed yourself (see our Wax Carving Basics: Rings workshop). Once you've molded your ring, you'll then position the gemstones into your desired design pattern. We will then melt down enough silver to cast your ring (gold upon request for additional cost). You'll have a choice of select rubies, sapphires, and cubic zirconia (additional gems/diamonds will be available for purchase if you'd like different options). Afterwards, we'll saw off our sprue and use a combination of hand tools and the flex shaft to sand and polish. You'll leave with a truly one of a kind ring.

Skills: We'll go over mold making + proper ventilation. How to calculate the proper amount of silver and temperatures as well as different casting techniques. We'll also go over hand tools + flex shaft usage for finishing. This is an adult class 18+.

Prerequisite: None, but if you'd like to make your own personalized ring, we recommend starting with Wax Carving Basics: Rings.
