Metalsmithing + Stone Setting - Free Form Stud Earrings

Learn metalsmithing techniques in stud earring making using a butane torch. Christina will be teaching you how create several sets of semi precious cabochon gemstone earrings by forming our own bezels to create classic settings. We’ll go over metal properties, how to use a jewelers saw to form bezels and use bezel cups, how to solder and work harden your posts, and using flex shaft for sanding and polishing. In the end, you will have made three sets of semi-precious gemstone studs.

Skills Covered: We'll go over metal properties, how to form and solder bezel settings for gemstone stud earrings. This is an adult class; students must be at least 18+ years old (16 with accompanying parent or guardian).

Prerequisite: This is a great class for an adventurous beginner or some prior soldering experience.

Materials Provided: All materials will be provided for you. Metals are iron and nickel free.
