- **Event Description**: In this class we will be creating a kiridashi - a simple blade used by Japanese carpenters for centuries. We'll start off by shaping the profile from stainless steel blanks. Next, we'll use an array of professional tools to grind the main bevel of the knife, bringing your creation to life. After grinding the edge, we'll heat treat your knife which will make it durable for a lifetime of use.

Once the heat treat is done, we'll move on to handle work keeping with the traditional Japanese Tsuka Maki style. Choose from assorted colors of genuine stingray and coordinating outer cord wrap as well as handle decorations (menuki). At the end of class, you'll have completely made your very own fully functional kiridashi knife - your very own work of art.
