After 13 years in clinical practice, she founded the nonsurgical weight loss program at what is now the UW Medicine Center for Weight Loss and Metabolic Surgery, where she continues to practice today.Dr. Schur’s research focuses on the brain’s regulation of appetite and body weight. She was the first to identify evidence in humans of inflammation—and possible scarring—in key regions of the hypothalamus involved in weight regulation.
