About the event

TERRAIN TALKS: PR For Your Creative Business
You’ve got a story to tell, so how do you get it out there?

How do you get your work and/or products featured in regional or national media?

If these are questions you are exploring, we hope you’ll join us for this month’s Terrain Talks!

We will host an open and honest conversation with local media (reporters, journalists) and PR professionals to provide insight and best practices to help you with the pitch.

Like always, this event is not just a discussion—it’s an opportunity to network, connect, and collaborate.

Whether you're just starting out or are more established in your creative business, this conversation will explore themes like authentic storytelling, effective media outreach, and thought-leadership.

PANELISTS:

Hannah Joy, KXLY-TV - Good Morning Northwest

Hannah Joy is the Breaking News Anchor for Good Morning Northwest. From breaking news to in-depth reporting, Hannah has built a reputation for delivering timely and accurate information to viewers. Before joining Good Morning Northwest, Hannah reported from New Orleans, covering historic cultural moments and major stories including Hurricane Ida, Uptown Super Sunday, The Black and Gold Boycott Bowl, Femme Fatale and The New Orleans Saints. Her passion for storytelling continued to grow as an Entertainment Correspondent for the Knockturnal, where she reported on major breaking news from the frontlines in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Hannah earned a Masters of Arts in Specialized Journalism from University of Southern California and is a proud HBCU graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, where she earned a double Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Political Science.
She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and is deeply passionate about mentoring young women and girls. Born and raised on the south-side of Chicago, Hannah is an avowed foodie, and proud puppy mom to Hanz, who runs the house, ignores all commands, and remains completely unimpressed by breaking news. Guided by faith, Hannah approaches every story, interview, and broadcast with gratitude, purpose, and a desire to serve her community.

Lindsey Treffry, The Spokesman-Review

Lindsey Treffry is the managing editor of The Spokesman-Review. She joined the paper in 2015, as a copy editor and page designer. She went on to become copy desk chief and then Lifestyles editor, before taking her current role. In addition to managing the staff of reporters, editors and designers, she assigns and coordinates food, arts and entertainment articles, closely working with freelancers. Lindsey is a University of Idaho and Spokane Falls Community College alumna. She is proudly raising her family in Spokane, the city she grew up in.
