Theater on the Verge is proud to announce its upcoming fall production of the acclaimed musical JOHN & JEN.
Set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing America, JOHN & JEN tells the story of a sister and brother growing up in the 1950s and ‘60s, and later of a mother raising her son in the 1980s and ‘90s. With a cast of only two actors, the show is a deeply personal look at the challenge of moving forward while honoring the past.
Bringing the story to life are two of the Inland Northwest’s most exciting performers:
CHELSEA DUVALL (Jen) — A Spokane-based theatre artist, educator, and writer, DuVall has performed and directed locally at Spokane Civic Theatre, Gonzaga University, and Stage Left Theater, and internationally in Germany, Russia, Scotland, and Iceland.
OSKAR OWENS (John) — A Coeur d’Alene–based actor and musician, Owens trained at Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City. He has recently appeared as Earl in Waitress, Roger in Rent, and Dr. Jekyll in Jekyll & Hyde.
Featuring a score by Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, The Wild Party) and book by Tom Greenwald, JOHN & JEN will be staged with live accompaniment in the Hamilton Studio Listening Room under the direction of Troy Nickerson.
