The 2026 International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums (ATALM2026) will take place September 21–24, 2026, in Spokane, Washington. Conference sessions will take place at the Spokane Convention Center, presented by the Spokane Tribe of Indians. Host hotels are the Davenport Grand ($169 per night) and the Doubletree Hilton ($150 per night). Both hotels are connected to the Convention Center.
Spokane is an ideal host city for ATALM2026. It is walkable, welcoming, and surrounded by rivers, public art, cultural institutions, and a strong Native presence. The Convention Center and official host hotels are seamlessly connected, making it easy to move between sessions, gatherings, and the informal conversations that so often become the most meaningful part of the conference
ATALM2026 is made possible through a significant three-year investment by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), which supports ATALM’s national conferences as critical infrastructure for Indigenous-led learning, leadership development, and field-wide collaboration. This sustained commitment allows ATALM to design conferences that are accessible, responsive to community needs, and focused on long-term impact.
ATALM conferences are a favorite because they prioritize Indigenous leadership, real-world experience, and peer-to-peer learning in an environment that is both rigorous and supportive. They also sell out each year, so don't wait to register, book your hotel rooms, and make travel arrangements.
To register, propose a session proposal, book a hotel room, join the National Planning Council, apply for support to attend, and more, visit the ATALM2026 webpage at:
