Carla Marshall (Mnicouju-Oglala Lakota) is a Grandmother Earth Advocate and Water Protector who has spent decades working to defend the Black Hills (HeSapa) from pollution and treaty violations. As part of the Black Hills Clean Water Alliance, she uses her experience as an organizer, researcher, and media consultant to raise awareness about the dangers of toxic hard-rock mining to our region’s ecosystems and communities.
