- **Event Description**: The HALF MARATHON is a road race down the beautiful Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway featuring limestone canyon walls blanketed with coniferous and deciduous trees along Spearfish Creek. Runners begin in Savoy at 7 AM and follow Highway 14A, Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, to the Spearfish City Park.   
*All half marathon racers receive a participation medal. 
*The top male and female finisher in each age category will receive a place medal: Under 12, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. There will also be place medals given for the top three overall time finishers for the female and male divisions.
*The Half Marathon course is a certified course (USATF Certificate SD16003BK). Participants must run on the left side of the road or  be DISQUALIFIED.
-There is a three-hour, 20-minute time limit for the half marathon. However, no runners will be left on the course. 

The 5K starts and ends in the Spearfish City Park. Runners follow the road through the campground and connect with the bike path to the canyon parking lot, then head back down the scenic byway to reconnect with the bike path to end in the park. 
*The top male and female finisher in each age category will receive a place medal: Under 12, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. There will also be place medals given for the top three overall time finishers for the female and male divisions.
*Everyone registered by June 24 will receive a race shirt/tank.

**As this is a fundraising event for Northern Hills CASA, a non-profit organization, no refunds will be issued.
