We wanted to take a moment to share a bit more information about this year’s Southwold Sausage Festival taking place on Saturday 4th July 2026 and explain why this particular event will be ticketed. 

Firstly, just to be really clear… this is not the same as our usual beach events.

We fully intend to still host our much-loved beach event again this October but this is simply an additional event we’re putting on, just at a different venue (Old Hall Southwold Cafe & Walks) and with a slightly different feel.

Think more of a festival vibe 🎶🍻  
With live bands, a bar, plenty going on… and instead of a scheduled walk, you can enjoy a beautiful walk at your own pace whenever you like with absolutely stunning views😊

This festival is something a little different for us & we hope we have your full support. 

PLEASE NOTE:
📍 It will NOT be on the beach  
It will be held at Old Hall, Southwold (IP18 6SG)  
🎟 It will be a fully ticketed event (no entry without a ticket)

Because we’re using a private rural venue and creating a much more structured event, the costs involved are significantly higher than what we’re used to. This includes things like the venue itself, live music, staffing, parking facilities, and all the infrastructure needed to run a safe and enjoyable event, which together amount to several thousand pounds.

At our beach events, we’ve always tried to keep things open and accessible, often covering a lot of the costs ourselves and asking for donations to charity instead. So many of you have been incredibly generous, and we’re hugely grateful for that ❤️

However, for an event of this scale, it simply isn’t sustainable to fund it in the same way, which is why a ticketed structure is necessary to make it possible. 

We really hope that makes sense, and that you all understand this an exciting extra event that allows us to offer something new, while still keeping our much-loved beach gatherings going as normal.

• Three live music acts 🎶  - get your dancing shoes on!
• Gun dog demonstration 🐕  dachshunds are working dogs after all😆
• Have a go at Dachshund Mantrailing! Get them noses working! 
• Festival face painting 🎨 
• Best dressed dog award - it’s fancy dress time, we have never done this😆 
• Our favourite Photographers to capture the day! 
• Plus lots of stalls, a buzzing bar 🍻, food trucks and onsite café  - what’s not to LOVE about this event!?
