East Coast original tapas and tunes combo pops up at Saxmundham's hip new hang out
Join us for the first Saltpeter x Woodbridge Festival pop up in Saxmundham.
The £12 ticket price includes an initial tapas dish and £6 tickets are for those who prefer to pay entrance only and tapas as they dance. There will be a full menu of trade mark Saltpeter dishes available throughout the night.
The night is inspired by the ethos of contemporary tapas/ pintxos bars and listening/ DJ bars you might find in places such as Ravel in Barcelona and Pate Vieja, San Sebastian. There will be all vinyl DJ sets and visual projections. Plus the Social bar's craft beers and fine wines.
Tapas: Saltpeter's chef, Davide Jimenez, is the creator of unrivalled East Coast tapas; inspired by his birth place in Malaga and inivative dishes from across Spain. Saltpeter has won devoted fans in Woodbridge and Felixstowe and follows Davide's time running La Fabrica and working at Tapas Brindisa in London.
Projections: VJ Girl In a T-Shirt is the creation of gallery artist and community art activist Alice Stallard. A First Light Festival/ Battery of Ideas commissioned artist, Alice's current commissioned exhibtion, Traveling Light, is on display in the Lowestoft Battery of Ideas Gallery and in an art trail in seven venues across the town. Alice is arts lead and chair of Woodbridge festival. She has worked with Tate Britain, Chelsea Arts Club, Print Club and many others. She's had commissions for the Ackerman Studios, Noise of Art and Daisy Green Collection.
Tunes: DJ Ben Osborne is the founder of Woodbridge Festival and Noise of Art. Described as a 'polymath' by Time Out (London), he is a DJ, musician, writer and award-winning creative producer. Ben has brought acts such as Jazzie B (Soul II Soul), Aswad, Orbital, Daniel Avery, Geno Washington, A Man Called Adam, Ed Banger Records, Coldcut, Martyn Ware/Heaven 17 and many others to play in Suffolk. Alongside clubs and festivals, he DJs unusual spaces, such as the top of BT Tower, The Tate, National Theatre and National Portrait Gallery. Locally he's DJed and programmed music for Felixtowe Loves Festival, First Light Festival, Latitude and Woodbridge Festival. He’s presented long-running radio shows for Xfm, NME Radio, Totallyradio and Slack City Radio. Ben has written extensively for newspapers and magazines and published books on the history of UK clubs, dance music and the Arctic Monkeys.
