Our Little Hour is a musical play by award winning writer Dougie Blaxland & celebrated composer Chris Anthony dramatising the inspirational life story of the late, great Walter Tull.
The grandson of a Barbadian slave and orphaned at just eight years old, Walter rose to prominence against all odds to become the first Black British footballer to play at the highest level of the domestic game in England, and the first non-white British Army Officer. Recommended for the Military Cross – an award which has still not been honoured – he was tragically killed in action in 1918 just weeks before the end of World War 1.
