When you watch the film imagine yourself as one of the early explorers arriving in the Amazon or an astronaut orbiting the moon. There is no time for rehearsals. What happens in front of you happens only once and you have to move on. The film is an exploration to find out if the Thames has a wild side comparable to what I saw in the upper reaches of the Orinoco and around Manaus in the Amazon. A wild river is a one that is unforgiving with humans, controls its space and is threatening if you don’t respect it. But I did not find just one river. I found five colossal wild rivers, mysterious islands, powerful currents that flow both ways and ninety mph winds. Pablo Behrens, April 24th 2026.
