Our TIFF Film Circuit series continues with a screening of the 2023 Italian film There’s Still Tomorrow. In this moving comedic drama set in postwar Rome, a working-class woman dreams of a better future for herself and her daughter while facing abuse at the hands of her domineering husband. When a mysterious letter arrives, she discovers the courage to change the circumstances of her life.

Set in postwar Rome and shot in black and white, it follows a resilient working-class woman as she endures daily struggles under the thumb of her oppressive husband. When her daughter’s engagement offers a glimpse of a different future — and a mysterious letter arrives — she finds the strength to rewrite her fate.
